Your motorcycle tour Albania begins at the starting point near Graz, where you meet your riding team and the German-speaking guide for this Balkan round trip. From there, the tour leads through Slovenia and Croatia toward the Balkans, before the Montenegro and Albania section begins. After the morning briefing, each day continues with the support vehicle and a set hotel route – from Banja Luka along the Adriatic coast to Shkodra, where the Albanian Alps and the ferry across the Koman Reservoir await. In total you cover around 3,600 km before the route brings you safely back to Graz.

Highlights

Adriatic Coastal Roads

The coastal road section takes you through Croatia and Montenegro all the way to Albania. Winding stretches, sea views and changing road surfaces make this leg a genuine riding experience on two wheels along the Adriatic.

Albanian Alps Passes

Bosnia-Herzegovina Leg

On the Bosnia-Herzegovina riding stage you pass through Banja Luka, Neum and on the return journey through Mostar with its famous bridge. Two separate stages show you the country before and after your time in Albania.

Koman Reservoir Ferry

The ferry across the Koman Reservoir is a highlight of any motorcycle tour in the Albanian Alps: between sheer rock faces you glide across turquoise water before rough final kilometres lead you down to the landing.

Stage 1

Day 1–2

Bosnia and Herzegovina

The start of your motorcycle tour Albania takes you from Graz through Slovenia and Croatia to Bosnia-Herzegovina, where the first two nights in Banja Luka and Neum await.

Day 1 · Bosnia and Herzegovina

Day 1: Graz – Slovenia – Croatia – Banja Luka

Your motorcycle tour Albania starts at the departure point near Graz. Through Slovenia and Croatia – this early leg already features winding sections – you reach Banja Luka in Bosnia-Herzegovina in the evening, where a stroll through the old town awaits.

Day 2 · Bosnia and Herzegovina

Day 2: Banja Luka – Neum

On this stage of the Balkan round trip you cross Bosnia-Herzegovina heading south on quiet country roads. In Neum a swim in the sea refreshes you before the night in the small coastal town on Bosnia's short Adriatic coastline.

Day 3–12

Albania

The centrepiece of your Balkan round trip: ten days exploring Albania from the Adriatic coast near Shkodra through the Albanian Alps to the Riviera in Saranda and the cultural cities of Berat and Tirana.

Day 3 · Albania

Day 3: Neum – Croatia – Montenegro – Shkodra

The Adriatic coastal road is a delight: through Croatia and Montenegro this section takes you to Shkodra, Albania's northernmost city, where you check into your hotel for three nights.

Day 4 · Albania

Day Trip: Koman Reservoir Ferry

Today's programme features the Koman Reservoir ferry. Between high rock faces the route heads inland and back to Shkodra via excellent roads – a highlight of this Southeast Europe motorcycle tour.

Day 5 · Albania

Day Trip: Albanian Alps

The Albanian Alps deserve a full day: the tarmac is in places brand new and the curves are a dream. This stage of the Albanian Alps tour stays in the memory for a long time. Third night in Shkodra.

Day 6 · Albania

Day 6: Shkodra – Peshkopi

A final excursion into the Albanian Alps and on to the overnight stop in Peshkopi brings a real curves party with views over rugged mountain ranges. This stage leads deep into the wild north of Albania.

Day 7 · Albania

Day 7: Peshkopi – Korca

A brief detour into North Macedonia takes you to Lake Ohrid at lunchtime, with views of the Albanian shore. The route then returns to Korca, the cradle of Albanian culture.

Day 8 · Albania

Day 8: Korca – Saranda

The Greek border comes close several times today before the route leads to Albania's southernmost city. This stage ends on the Albanian Riviera with fresh fish in the evening.

Day 9 · Albania

Day Trip: Southern Albania

Culture is not neglected: a visit to Gjirokastra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, impresses as much as the mountain scenery of southern Albania. A guide shows you facets away from the coast. Second night in Saranda.

Day 10 · Albania

Day 10: Rest Day by the Sea

After a week of riding, today is for relaxing by the sea. The Balkan round trip grants you a free day for swimming, strolling along the promenade and resting before the final stages. Third and last night in Saranda.

Day 11 · Albania

Day 11: Saranda – Berat

The first 100 km to the lunch stop are a pleasure of fine road and sea views. The day's highlight is Berat, the City of a Thousand Windows and a UNESCO World Heritage site – a must on any motorcycle tour through Albania.

Day 12 · Albania

Day 12: Berat – Tirana

The road to Tirana leads once more through the mountains before you join the city motorway into the centre. A city tour gives you insights into Albania's capital. This Tirana–Berat motorcycle stage ends right in the heart of the city.
