South India Motorcycle Tour on a Royal Enfield

This South India motorcycle tour begins in Varkala, a small fishing village with a sandy beach about 50 kilometres north of Trivandrum. From here we set off on our Kerala motorcycle tour, before the route continues into the state of Tamil Nadu. This India motorcycle tour combines well-paved coastal roads with winding mountain passes through the Western Ghats. After an easy warm-up ride near the coast, we continue on the Royal Enfield Classic towards Kanyakumari, the southernmost point of the Indian subcontinent, and from there on to the temple town of Madurai.

Highlights

Tea Plantations of Munnar

On this Munnar motorcycle tour you ride through endless tea plantations, climbing above 2,000 metres in the Western Ghats. Winding mountain roads and a mild highland climate make this stretch a true rider's delight.

Beach & Ayurveda in Varkala

The start and finish point of your Varkala motorcycle tour is a small coastal town with a sandy beach and Ayurveda resorts. You acclimatise here before the tour and wind down the riding days with a relaxing massage at the end.

Kerala Backwaters

A boat trip on Munroe Island brings this Kerala backwaters motorcycle tour to life: palm-fringed canals, small fishing villages and a peaceful counterpoint to the twisty riding stages on the motorcycle.

Curves in the Western Ghats

This Western Ghats motorcycle tour takes you along narrow mountain roads to more than 2,000 metres above sea level. Hairpin bends, dense forests and sweeping views over the mountain range define this section of the route.

Temple Towns of Tamil Nadu

Madurai and Palani reveal the spiritual side of your South India motorcycle adventure: soaring gopurams, streams of pilgrims and centuries-old temple complexes shape this part of the route through Tamil Nadu.
