Balkan Enduro Tour: Through Bosnia & Montenegro

A Balkan motorcycle tour means ten days of enduro riding between the Adriatic coast, mountain passes and gravel tracks. The journey starts in Graz, travelling via Slovenia and Croatia into Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a guided enduro tour, a guide and escort vehicle accompany you through three countries. This off-road Balkan motorcycle tour demands gravel experience, but rewards you with a route through Montenegro and Albania stretching from Durmitor National Park all the way to the Adriatic coast.

Highlights

Durmitor National Park

This Durmitor National Park stage crosses Montenegro's highest peaks, deep gorges and the turquoise Piva reservoir – a panorama for riders who love off-road sections and rest stops in wild alpine scenery.

Bay of Kotor Coastal Ride

The Bay of Kotor stage follows one of Europe's finest coastal roads, past sheer cliff faces and tight bends, with views over the Adriatic that make every stop on this stage well worth the effort.

Theth Pass in Albania

The Theth Pass Albania stage climbs an asphalted pass to 2,600 metres before a steep gravel descent into the valley – one of the most technically demanding and rewarding stages of the entire Balkan route.

Old Town of Mostar

This Mostar stage ends in the UNESCO-listed Old Town with its famous bridge – a memorable close after days of gravel riding, where Bosnian hospitality and local cuisine round out the evening in style.

Gravel & Mountain Stages

The gravel enduro sections of this tour demand real off-road riding skill: tight bends, loose surfaces and changing conditions between Bosnia and Montenegro turn every stage into a challenge for experienced adventure enduro riders.

Yes, on the coastal stages near Budva and in the Bay of Kotor you ride right beside the sea before heading back into the mountains.

A passenger is generally possible but is not recommended given the demanding terrain and gravel conditions throughout the route.

You ride your own motorcycle fitted with at least all-round tyres suitable for both road and off-road use; in wet conditions, dedicated off-road tyres such as the TKC 80 or K 60 Scout are a significant advantage.
