This Slovenia motorcycle tour starts with your individual arrival at the starting hotel in Großgmain in the Salzburg region, where a shared dinner and the first tour briefing await you. On day two you cross the main Alpine ridge into Carinthia and head via Villach to the Slovenian border. Over the Wurzen Pass you reach Kobarid in the Soča Valley, our tour center for the coming days. From there, new daily stages set off into the surrounding area, guided by experienced tour guides who adjust the route and breaks to the group.

Itinerary

Stage 1

Day 1–8

Slovenia

The route runs through northern Slovenia via the Soča Valley, Bled and Kranj, across into Italian Friuli and back, starting and ending in the Salzburg region of Austria.

Day 1 · Slovenia

Day 1: Großgmain – Arrival & Welcome

Individual arrival at the starting hotel in Großgmain in the Salzburg region, check-in until 18:00. Over a shared dinner the group gets to know each other and discusses the schedule for this Slovenia motorcycle tour.

Day 2 · Slovenia

Day 2: Großgmain – Kobarid (Soča Valley)

Over the main Alpine ridge into Carinthia, via Villach to the Slovenian border, we leave Austria over the Wurzen Pass to Kobarid. Our tour center for this Julian Alps motorcycle tour, in the Soča Valley, awaits for the coming days.

Day 3 · Slovenia

Day 3: N. Slovenia – Bled, Kranj, Škofja Loka

A day tour through northern Slovenia taking in Lake Bled, the town of Kranj and picturesque Škofja Loka. Winding country roads and alpine panoramas mark this stage of the guided Slovenia motorcycle tour, before returning to Kobarid in the evening.

Day 4 · Slovenia

Day 4: N. Friuli – Mangart, Predil, Sella Nevea

Via Mangart and the Passo Predil into Italy, on through Sella Nevea and Tolmezzo, before the route runs back to Kobarid via Uccea. A highlight of this Julian Alps motorcycle tour, with tight hairpins and wide views over both countries.

Day 5 · Slovenia

Day 5: On the Trail of World War I

Along the Slovenian-Italian border region we head south to Nova Gorica and return inland to Kobarid. Numerous historic military installations line this history-steeped stage of the Friuli motorcycle tour along the old border ridge road.

Day 6 · Slovenia

Day 6: Into Prosciutto Country

Back across the border into Friuli: via Tolmezzo and Tramonti di Sopra to San Daniele, the capital of prosciutto. Via S. Stefano, Tarcento and the Passo di Tanamea, the route leads back into Slovenia.

Day 7 · Slovenia

Day 7: Return to Großgmain

The ride back from Kobarid follows the familiar route through Carinthia to the starting hotel in the Salzburg region. Time for one last group exchange about the experiences of this Kobarid motorcycle tour before heading home.

Day 8 · Slovenia

Day 8: Individual Journey Home
