Franconia Motorcycle Tour – Curves in the Forest

This Upper Franconia motorcycle tour takes you through the gentle low mountain ranges between the Frankenwald, the Rhön and the Vogtland over five days. Departure is at 9 a.m. at the Geismühle West service area (A57); from there back roads lead to the base hotel Altmühlaue near Bad Rodach, your starting point for the Thuringian Forest motorcycle tour and Thuringia rides. Alternatively, you can join the group en route or make your own way there. Your tour guide leads groups of 6 to 8 motorcycles, and the roadbook provides all route and hotel information for the complete tour.

Highlights

Frankenwald Motorcycle Day

On day two the Frankenwald motorcycle ride passes Tambach Castle, the Mauthaustal reservoir and the Goldisthal pumped-storage power station. Winding back roads and dense forests define this stage in eastern Upper Franconia.

On-Road Across Germany

This on-road German motorcycle tour runs exclusively along well-maintained, low-traffic asphalt roads in low mountain terrain. Perfect for those who enjoy twisty country roads without gravel or dirt tracks and want to make relaxed progress.

Low Mountain Curves

This low mountain range motorcycle tour stays below 1,000 metres and offers plenty of curves and far-reaching views. The daily stages of 300 to 350 kilometres demand stamina but remain manageable even for experienced returning riders.

Base Hotel near Bad Rodach

You spend four nights at the 3-star base hotel Altmühlaue – your Bad Rodach motorcycle base starts and ends here with half-board and rooms with shower or bath. All day tours depart from here and you return each evening for a shared meal.

Riding the Rennsteig Ridge

On day three your Rennsteig motorcycle route crosses the legendary hiking ridge several times, staying on tarmac throughout. Between the Fröbel Tower, Greifenstein Castle and the Goethe memorial in Ilmenau, cultural stops line the route.
