Afrika
Africa is the continent for everyone looking for wide tracks and real adventure. On motorcycle tours through Africa you ride over the dunes and clay pistes of the Moroccan Sahara, across Namibia's gravel expanses and through the winding Cape region of South Africa. Overcross accompanies you with experienced guides and a support vehicle – from an enduro week in the desert to a multi-week journey between Kilimanjaro and the Cape of Good Hope.

Morocco · Sahara
The classic way into Africa: over the passes of the High Atlas, through clay pistes and palm oases to the dunes of Merzouga and Zagora. Solid kasbahs instead of tents, warm days, cool nights.
Morocco · Enduro
For those who like it more technical: light travel enduros, sand fields, rocky trails and off-road riding training. Fewer kilometres, more riding technique – the pure off-road programme.
Namibia
Kilometres of gravel pistes through one of the emptiest landscapes on earth: red dunes, canyons and space to the horizon. Ideal dry-season tracks, solid suspension instead of traffic.
Namibia · Damaraland
Namibia's rugged side: Brandberg, Uis and lonely desert tracks in the northwest. Dry riverbeds, coarse gravel and nights under one of the clearest skies on the continent.
South Africa · Cape
Winding coastal roads, wine regions and mountain passes around the Cape of Good Hope. Plenty of tarmac, a relaxed climate and a gentle introduction to southern Africa.
South Africa · Drakensberg
The green high route: the pass roads of the Drakensberg, the kingdom of Eswatini and altitude with wide views. Changeable mountain weather, plenty of curves and gravel sections.
Tanzania · Kilimanjaro
East Africa at its purest: dusty tracks around Moshi, the view of Kilimanjaro and rides through villages and bushland. Dry-season pistes and East Africa's wildlife right by the roadside.
Madagascar
The world's fourth-largest island on two wheels: pistes through rainforest, rice fields and the Tsingy rock needles, plus lemurs and baobab avenues. A destination for anyone who wants to ride off the usual routes.
Africa rides differently from Europe: greater distances, more piste than tarmac and nature that starts right at the roadside. Here's what to prepare for.
Distances
There are often hundreds of kilometres without a village between stages. In return you ride for hours over open tracks – a feeling Europe simply can't offer.
Surface
The tarmac ends quickly. Corrugated pistes, sand fields and dry riverbeds are part of the daily routine. Basic off-road confidence makes the trip more relaxed.
Nature
In southern and eastern Africa, elephants, giraffes and zebras cross the piste. Riding and safari merge – with the necessary respect for the animals.
Best time to travel
You travel Africa counter-seasonally: while it's winter in Europe, southern Africa offers ideal conditions. The north, on the other hand, rides best in spring and autumn.
Best season March–May & September–November
Africa is best travelled counter-seasonally. While it's winter in Europe, southern Africa is in its dry season with pleasant riding temperatures. Morocco rides best in spring and autumn, when the Sahara days are mild rather than blazing hot. Tanzania shines in the dry season from June to October, Madagascar outside the rainy months. So you'll find a region with ideal conditions almost all year round.
