Motorcycle Tours Asia – Himalaya, Steppe & Southeast Asia
Asia is the continent for riders who want distance and contrast. In the Indian Himalayas you cross high passes above 5,000 metres between Ladakh and the Spiti Valley, on gravel roads where the air grows thin. Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia open up endless steppe, nomad camps and river crossings far from any tarmac. In Southeast Asia you ride through the rice terraces and jungle roads of Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia, past temples and along the Mekong. Whether the Pamir Highway, the Gobi Desert or the mountains of northern Thailand – every route here is a real journey with a guide who knows the terrain.
Regions
Top routes in Asia
Each region of Asia demands different riding techniques and presents distinct challenges. Here are the top routes for guided motorcycle tours.
What makes motorcycle tours in Asia different

Asia presents different demands than European riding. Infrastructure is less reliable, riding techniques differ, and altitude plays a role. Here are the particularities you should know.

bis zu 5.900 m
Extreme altitude
In the Himalayas you ride above 5,000 meters – that makes demands on you and your bike. With good preparation and acclimatization, it's manageable.
- Altitude acclimatization is built into the itinerary: you have time to acclimatize before serious climbing begins.
- Royal Enfields and modern enduros are designed for these elevations – displacement matters less than proper carburation.
6–8 Wochen
Long touring windows
Asia tours aren't weekend trips. Most tours run at least a week, many two weeks or more.
- The journey is the destination – each day bringing new landscapes and challenges.
- Your body needs time to adjust to the rhythm. After 2–3 days, the hardest part is over.
vielfältige Flächen
Mixed-surface riding
On a single tour you experience tarmac, gravel, sand tracks, river crossings, and high-altitude mountain roads – often on the same day.
- You need riding confidence on different surfaces. Guides show you optimal techniques.
- Your enduros are all-rounders – robust, reliable, easy to repair.
Best time to travel
Best time to ride in Asia
Asia is far too big for a single season. When the Himalayan passes are open the steppe rides best too, while Southeast Asia is at its finest in the northern winter.

The continent is too diverse and too large. The Himalayas and Central Asia are only rideable from June to September, when high passes are snow-free and steppe tracks are dry. Southeast Asia has its ideal window in European winter, November through March – the dry season.

Himalaya (Ladakh , Spiti)
High passes clear of snow, dry mountain roads

Kyrgyzstan & Mongolia
