Suedamerika
South America is the Andes in their purest form. In Peru you ride above 4,000 metres through the highlands, along Lake Titicaca to Cusco and Machu Picchu. In the north, Argentina opens up the coloured mountains of Salta and Humahuaca, plus vineyards and wide gravel roads. Colombia links green coffee country with dry desert and colonial old towns. Further north, in Central America, you carve through Costa Rica and Nicaragua between volcanoes, rainforest and two oceans. Many trips are pure enduro tours off the tarmac, others relaxed road trips. You ride adventure bikes, and every tour is guided – by a leader who knows the altitude, the language and the roads.

Peru · Machu Picchu
The classic goal: through the Peruvian highlands over Andean passes to Cusco and Machu Picchu. Altitudes above 4,000 metres, clear mountain air and Inca history along the way.

Wide high plateaus, Lake Titicaca and lonely Andean tracks: southern Peru rides with plenty of variety between tarmac and coarse gravel, always at high altitude.
Peru · Amazon
Contrast at its purest: down from the cold high Andes into the warm, green Amazon. Switchbacks, cloud forest and tropical humidity define this leg.
Argentina · Salta
Salta, Humahuaca and the quebradas: northern Argentina glows in red, ochre and green. Add vineyards, wide gravel roads and little traffic.
Colombia · Coffee Region
Green coffee slopes, colonial old towns and the dry La Guajira desert: Colombia combines dense Andes with a Caribbean climate and quiet mountain roads.
Costa Rica · Volcanoes
From the Pacific to the Caribbean: Costa Rica carves between volcanoes, rainforest and beaches. Well-paved main roads alternate with short gravel sections.
Nicaragua · Volcanoes
Nicaragua is young volcano country: active craters, large lakes and colonial cities like Granada. Little traffic, plenty of adventure and a tropical, warm climate.
Costa Rica · Enduro
The enduro version: mud tracks, river crossings and lonely trails through the rainforest. Technically demanding, tropically humid and a real off-road adventure.

Best season Andes May–September, Central America December–April
South and Central America have no single travel window – region and altitude are what matter. The high Andes of Peru and northern Argentina ride best in the southern dry season from May to September, when the mountain days are clear and stable. Central America – Costa Rica and Nicaragua – has its dry season from December to April. Colombia sits in between and rides best in its drier months, December to March and July to August.
